Conference Overview

Asian Americans for Equality, Inc. (AAFE), in conjunction with National Coalition for Asian Pacific American Community Development (NCAPCD), the New York Immigration Coalition (NYIC), and Partnership for New York City will convene the second annual housing and community development conference in New York under the theme Crisis, Innovation, Opportunity: Impacting Local Development with Global Resources to examine the status of the country's economy amid recent financial and mortgage meltdowns and discuss their impacts on New York's immigrant communities and the city's key industries.

The conference will bring together a diverse group of over 300 experts, philanthropists, government officials, community leaders and entrepreneurs to share best practice models and experiences in housing, job creation and community development. The event will include high-level presentations from keynote speakers and facilitated group workshops on globalization, capacity building, increasing access to community and global resources, and achieving sustainability.
