One million Asian Americans in our city mean we are in a position to influence electoral politics. As a community, Asian Americans have diverse political views, from conservative to progressive. The last city elections demonstrated that Asian Americans will vote across party lines to support Asian American candidates. Given that Asian Americans are more than 25% of the population in 9 neighborhoods proves that we will be a critical constituency in the next election. This panel will discuss what our city's leading three political parties plan to do to win the APA vote, how they will recruit APA candidates to run for office, and the impact of the upcoming redistricting process on the Asian community.
