The Lunar New Year Banquet celebration is a cherished tradition
shared each year by over 1,000 friends and supporters of AAFE. It
is a time when we look back and take stock of what we have done
in the past year and to look forward to a year of innovative service
to the community. At the banquet, AAFE honors individuals who have
made great strides and made valuable contributions towards promoting
equality, racial harmony and economic empowerment in our communities.
Chinatown Summer
Festival
Each year, AAFE hosts its Chinatown Summer Street Festival to highlight
the theme "Celebrating Immigrants." The Street Festival promotes
local Chinatown businesses and highlights the cultural and historical
richness of the community.
Clinton Street Festival
The Clinton Festival highlights the many different cultures that
make the Lower East Side such a distinctive place. AAFE along with
twenty-two organizations from the community host an afternoon of
entertainment, children's activities, raffle prizes and a variety
of booths featuring local businesses and service organizations.
Contributions to AAFE:
The Equality Fund was created to address the special needs of
many people who have come through the doors of AAFE and have very
little or no financial support or access to public or government resources.
Through the creation of this fund, AAFE can continue to address their special
needs and circumstances, and can continue to provide the unique multi-lingual
services we currently offer.
You can make a difference in the lives of many immigrants and low-income families by joining AAFE and becoming a member.
Donations towards membership will support on-going programs and activities of the organization.
