Over the last three decades, AAFE has evolved from a community advocate to a community builder. From low-income renters on the Lower East Side to homeowners, both struggling and aspiring, in Flushing and Sunset Park, AAFE is preserving and expanding affordable housing opportunities amidst incredibly challenging market conditions. And despite deep cuts in government resources, we are helping more immigrant youth and families than ever prepare for college and become civically engaged. We are even scaling up our commitment to promoting and implementing energy-efficiency residential retrofits.
Delivery of these robust and targeted multilingual services, including counseling, education, lending, housing rehabilitation, small business assistance and advocacy work is only made possibly through your generous support! Funds raised at our Lunar New Year Banquet enable AAFE carry out our mission.
This year we will be honoring the Honorable Ed Lee, Mayor of San Francisco (Invited); Luis Garden Acosta, Founder/President & CEO, El Puente; Eileen Fitzgerald, CEO, NeighborWorks America; Errol Louis, Journalist and Host of "Inside City Hall"; and Chancee Martorell, Executive Director, Thai Community Development Center.
