In the past two weeks, AAFE’s Youth and Family Development department hosted career exploration days at both Flushing High School  and Lower East Side Preparatory High School (LESP).  During the events, professionals engaged students and shared about their day-to-day work, their motivations to enter their respective fields, and the educational paths they took in attaining their careers.  The volunteer professionals came from many different fields, including business, medicine, law, and education.

“AAFE continues to commit itself to developing the next generation of young community leaders through career exploration events as well as through financial coaching programs and college admissions counseling,” said Youth and Family Development Program Manager Diana Yi.  She added, “LESP and Flushing High School have been extremely supportive of our programs and have been outstanding partners.  We would also like to thank our funders, especially the Local Initiatives Support Corporation, without whom none of this work would be possible.”

Thank you to all of those who volunteered at the events, and best of luck to all Flushing High School and LESP students in their future careers!
