Bill Chong is the Commissioner of the NYC Department of Youth and Community Development, and has served his native New York for 25 years. In addition to numerous city and state appointments, Bill worked at the Citizens Committee, providing grants and technical assistance to grassroots organizations, and at the US Department of Housing and Urban Development. Bill was President of AAFE, establishing a full range services to residents and immigrants, including the creation of the City’s first affordable housing project supported through federal low-income tax credits, Equality House, in 1988.
