On November 18th, AAFE marked the organization’s 40th anniversary by hosting a gala. The event, held at Tribeca Three Sixty in Manhattan, was an opportunity to celebrate and reflect on the progress AAFE has made in working to achieve equality for all those in need. During the ceremony, 40 “Agents of Change” were honored. Each honoree symbolizes the people who supported AAFE’s founding vision, its trailblazing community and economic development programs, and the organization’s model for impact and change that improves lives.

Keith Getter, Relationships Manager at NeighborWorks America and long-time AAFE supporter, summarized the evening’s significance in the following statement: “Congratulations to AAFE on an incredibly wonderful and significant event that marks the documentation of your contributions to community development and social justice in the US – a very historical feature and so important for the values of an inclusionary society. You have again set the mark of distinction.”
