A short time ago, President Trump ordered an end to the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program, known as DACA. The Attorney General’s office announced that 800,000 beneficiaries of DACA, which shields young undocumented immigrants from deportation, will not be immediately impacted. The president has given Congress until March of next year to come up with a replacement program. This decision threatens the stability of many hard working families, including thousands of Asian immigrants.
This evening at 5:30 p.m., the New York Immigration Coalition will be holding a rally in Manhattan’s Foley Square to fight for DACA. After gathering in Lower Manhattan, participants will march to the Brooklyn Bridge.
AAFE will be taking part in this important event. We hope you will join us to speak up for NYC immigrants.
