AAFE staff came together with many of our community partners in Queens this week to get the word out about our One Flushing Resource Fair. The big event is coming up Saturday, Oct. 5 from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. at the One Flushing Community center, 133-29 41st Avenue.
This community event — a collaboration with more than 20 nonprofit and government partners — will include information on affordable housing, immigration, small business, homeownership and other topics. Information tables will line the sidewalk along 41st Avenue in front of One Flushing (the street will remain open to automobile traffic). Inside, there will be free seminars on rental housing, fair housing and homeownership (sponsored by JPMorgan Chase) and health care benefits (sponsored by Cathay Bank). There will also be great giveaways, traditional Chinese performances and free bubble tea (from T Baar).
Partners include the U.S. Department of Housing Preservation and Development, U.S Small Business Administration, U.S. Census Bureau, Mayor’s Office of Immigrant Affairs, NYC Dept. of Finance, FDNY, NYC Dept.of Sanitation, GetCoveredNYC, Chinese American Planning Council, Minkwon Center for Community Action, Garden of Hope, New York Presbyterian, Charles B. Wang Community Health Center, Glow Foundation and Flushing BID.
