Interim Executive Director
Doris W. Koo currently serves as the Interim Executive Director of AAFE and as a principal consultant for Yesler Community Collaborative.
Ms. Koo served as President and Chief Executive Officer of Enterprise Community Partners from 2007 to December 31, 2013. Ms. Koo started with Enterprise in 2001 as Vice President and was subsequently promoted to Senior Vice President in 2002 and Executive Vice President in 2006. From 1979 to 1992, Ms. Koo headed Asian Americans for Equality in New York City, initially serving as a member of the board of directors and later as the founding Executive Director. She helped build the community-based non-profit organization into the largest owner and developer of low-income housing in New York City’s Chinatown and Lower East Side. After relocating to Seattle in 1992, she furthered her work in affordable housing development as the senior housing developer at the Fremont Public Association. Ms. Koo became the Seattle Housing Authority’s Director of Development in 1994 and Deputy Executive Director in 1999. There, she spearheaded three HOPE VI redevelopment efforts and oversaw municipal bond financing and internal management and operations.
Ms. Koo currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Seattle Parks Foundation. Previously, Ms. Koo served as the Chairperson of the Board of Directors of Enterprise Community Loan Fund and as a national board member of the AARP. Ms. Koo has also served as Vice Chairman of Affordable Housing Advisory Council of Federal Home Loan Bank of Seattle and was a member of the Investment Committee at the Russell Family Foundation. Ms. Koo has a bachelor’s degree in sociology from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and a master’s degree in social service administration from the University of Chicago.
