AAFECare Older
Adult Center

Providing services for community members on the Lower East Side

The AAFECare Older Adult Center is located on the Lower East Side of Manhattan. It serves both residents in AAFE-managed affordable housing as well as other community members. As more people age in place, we believe it’s crucial to offer language and culturally appropriate social, cultural and health services in the neighborhood our older adults help build and where their longtime support networks are already located. The center is a managed long-term care facility.

The following services are offered:
• Daily breakfast and lunch
• Case management for entitlement benefits and housing issues
• Access-a-Ride
• Nurse services: medication management, nutrition, blood pressure checks
• Referrals to primary care
• Health care workshops
• Recreation: singing, art and dance led by instructor, mahjong, card games, socialization
• Membership in free culturally appropriate food pantry (monthly distribution)
